Cantarana is the country where we currently reside. Spanning across numerous kilometers of lush forests and meadows, it is adorned with quaint villages consisting of houses and farms scattered along the surrounding hills. These villages are interconnected by paths, some only accessible by foot. The word "Cantarana" derives from its etymology, meaning "place with water." This is aptly demonstrated in the vicinity, very close to our Bed & Breakfast, where the source of Bonoma can be found. Bonoma supplies water to the city of Asti. In 1995, we, a group of four individuals, along with our seven cats and a dog, made this farm our home. The farm, which dates back to the early 20th century, was previously owned by the barber Cantarana. We have painstakingly restored it. The surrounding hills offer breathtaking views, and guests of the B&B can enjoy beautiful walks, bike rides, and even horseback riding. We have special agreements with two nearby riding facilities for our guests. The B&B can be reached by car (the Torino-Piacenza motorway exit is 8 km away) or by train (the Villafranca-Cantarana station is approximately 4 km from the farm). For wine enthusiasts, Cantarana is an ideal location, as it borders the most renowned wine regions in Piedmont: the Monferrato, Asti, Langhe, and Roero. Guido, our host, will gladly recommend the best wine producers in the area. During the summer months, a delightful breakfast consisting of homemade bread, garden-fresh produce (when available), and other locally sourced products will be served on the terrace adjacent to the B&B rooms. In the winter, the breakfast room, equipped with a guest computer and internet access, will be the cozy setting for indulging in this scrumptious morning meal.
