Our beautiful guest house, Locanda Gallo, is located in the heart of the historic center of Florence in the Quartiere San Lorenzo. Housed in a traditional Florentine building, it exudes charm and character with its small entrance and lovely stairs. Situated on the 3rd floor of a historic 15th-century palace that once hosted part of the "Spedale dei Cavalieri di Malta," Locanda Gallo is a true reflection of Florence's rich history.In September 2007, we renovated our rooms and reception area. Currently, we offer various room options, including four beds private rooms with en suite bathrooms, triple private rooms with en suite bathrooms (one with a kitchen corner), and double private rooms with en suite bathrooms and kitchen corners. All our rooms are bright, clean, and newly furnished, and each guest receives their own personal set of keys. Additionally, all rooms come equipped with en suite bathrooms, TV, free Wi-Fi, and air conditioning.
At Locanda Gallo, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional hospitality and service. Our reception area is available for guests to relax and use our computer with free internet access. We have no curfew, allowing guests to come and go as they please. For those looking to stay for an extended period, our double rooms with kitchen corners are the perfect choice.
We are committed to providing a memorable stay in Florence, offering courtesy, cleanliness, good services, and a very central location. And all at the best prices you can find in Florence!
In addition to our comfortable accommodations, we also provide various amenities and services, including TV, digital TV, fax service, room service (on request), linen and hand towels, kitchen corners in the studios, hairdryers (available upon request), availability of a private tour guide, laundry service (available in select rooms), booking museum tickets, bicycle rental, city maps, cell phone rental, free Wi-Fi in all rooms, daily cleaning service (10:00 am - 12:00 pm), personal safes, and the option for garage parking for an additional fee of 15 euros per day. We also have a special arrangement with some of Florence's typical restaurants.

Our location is extremely convenient, as the Central Railway Station is just a 15-minute walk away. From there, you can easily explore Florence and visit nearby attractions such as:

- Santa Maria Novella train station: a 20-minute walk
- Galleria dell Accademia (original David by Michelangelo): a mere 500 meters away
- Cathedral: only 400 meters

By Air:
From Aeroporto Amerigo Vespucci in Florence, take the shuttle to Santa Maria Novella train station. From there, walk along via Nazionale until you reach via XXV aprile. Turn right and continue on via XXV aprile until you reach Via S. Gallo. It should take about 10-15 minutes on foot.
By Train:
From Stazione Santa Maria Novella, it's just a short 10-15 minute walk. Take the left exit towards Piazza Adua. Walk along via Nazionale until you reach via XXV aprile. Turn right and continue on via XXV aprile until you reach Via S. Gallo. Once on Via San Gallo, turn left and continue until you reach our location at number 73. Look for the sign "Locanda Gallo."
By Car:
If coming from the north, Pisa, or highways A1 Bologna-Milano and A11 Lucca-Genova, take the Firenze Nord exit. Follow the signs for the Center and then Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. After passing under the Fortezza da Basso, take Viale Spartaco Lavagnini and turn right at the first traffic light onto Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you'll find Via San Gallo. Turn left and look for number 73. Our sign, "Locanda Gallo," will guide you.
If coming from the south, Siena (SS22), or highway A1 Roma-Napoli, take the Firenze Sud exit. Follow the directions for the Center and then Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. When you reach Piazza della Libertà, turn left at the first traffic light (as if circling the square). After the second light, take Viale Lorenzo il Magnifico, which is on the right. At the first light, turn left onto Via Poliziano. At the next traffic light, cross the street and stay on the right, taking Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you'll find Via San Gallo. Turn left and look for number 73. Our sign, "Locanda Gallo," will guide you.
