Nestled between history and legend lies the majestic Mt Viso, known as the "stone king", standing tall at a height of 3841 meters. This captivating mountain has enchanted travelers throughout the ages. Our location is in the Marquisate, an Occitan territory that spans the Po valley, the birthplace of Italy's longest river.

In this land, you will find a scattering of castles, abbeys, and monasteries. Monks, merchants, knights, and even brigands have traversed its ancient mule tracks and dirt roads. The legendary "road of salt", which led to France, was a vital route for both men and the transportation of salt, anchovies, oil, spices, textiles, and other goods.

Here, you will also discover the "Mt Viso hole", an irregular tunnel that stretches 75 meters beneath the Traversette col at an altitude of 2882 meters. This tunnel was carved out to allow loaded mules and stooped men to pass through.

In the past, merchants from the Dauphiné, Provence, and Burgundy would wander from farm to farm, crossing the Alps, descending the hills, and reaching the plains. Many of these travelers would find respite in our ancient inn, where Virginia, with her warm smile, would welcome them with a hot meal and the comforting glow of the fireplace.

Today, after extensive restoration, the "Virginia" has reopened its doors. Step inside to experience the rustic and cozy ambiance of the past, with its stone, wood, terracotta, and antique furnishings. The rooms are adorned with warm colors, reminiscent of the typical atmosphere found in rural houses. Each of our seven rooms is furnished with wood and wrought-iron beds, wardrobes, and desks that pay homage to folk culture. The curtains bring to mind the Occitan boiserie found in ancient mansions.

We provide spacious common areas dedicated to our guests, including a sitting room, a breakfast and dining room, and a library complete with a fireplace where you can unwind and relax. In the basement, you will find a large cellar where you can sample wines and taste the typical products of this Occitan territory.

Our charming and captivating agriturismo offers the perfect opportunity to reconnect with yourself and discover forgotten traditions and cultures. We have six double rooms and one triple room, all with en-suite facilities. Enjoy a buffet breakfast, and take advantage of amenities such as TV, telephone, fax, and internet access. We also provide a free private car park.

Additionally, we offer tastings and sales of typical products, some of which are produced on our farm. Explore our wine cellar and peruse our wine-and-food library. For those seeking adventure, we organize excursions and events.
