The Main House

The Maison de l'Orchidee is a historic Vignernon house dating back to the 1700s. While preserving its original features, the main facilities have been updated to meet modern standards for a cozy bed and breakfast experience known as Chambre d'Hotes. The presence of wooden doors and skirtings throughout the house adds to its historic charm. With central heating in all rooms, the house is perfect for enjoying breaks during the later seasons. The loft space has been thoughtfully insulated with half a meter of thickness, ensuring a warm and snug atmosphere during winter months. This is particularly delightful in October and November when the autumn colors create a picturesque setting. Returning to a warm room after a day out and sipping on a complimentary mug of hot chocolate or Coca (available for winter bookings only, from November to March) adds to the overall comfort. Furthermore, the construction of the house's walls helps maintain a pleasant temperature, keeping it cool during the summer and retaining warmth in the winter. Additionally, all bedroom suites are equipped with large ceiling fans to circulate air on warm summer nights, ensuring a restful sleep.
