Description for B&B:
Mas St Joseph, built in 1790, holds a rich history as the former living quarters of the neighboring monastery. Today, much of the original monastery has become part of the peach farm, including an additional farmhouse and various barns. The beautiful chapel is located on the opposite side. With spacious rooms and breathtaking views of the peach orchards, hills, and mountains, the mas still exudes a tranquil atmosphere from its past. Traditional Catalan brocante items are on display in the rooms and available for purchase. On the ground floor, guests are welcomed into an entrance hallway adorned with exposed stonework and beams. A large refectory table provides a space for indoor meals when the weather does not permit dining outside. Two guest sitting rooms offer amenities such as satellite TV, a granule burner (heater), and various facilities for guest use, including a desk, maps, regional information, and an electric cool box. The second, larger sitting room also features a DVD player. French doors lead out to a Moroccan style patio/courtyard with a barbecue and seating area on one side, and a swimming pool and additional seating area on the other. Guests have the freedom to choose where they would like to enjoy their breakfast.
The accommodations include three bedrooms and a self-contained studio, each equipped with a brand new en-suite shower and toilet. Wi-fi and satellite TV are available in all rooms. Room rates include a generous continental breakfast, and picnic lunches and evening meals can be arranged upon request.
Chambre de l'Abbé, previously the abbot's sleeping quarters, offers a sunny ambiance with stunning views of the peach orchards and the tree-covered hills of Les Aspres to the south. This room features a comfortable antique double bed and a standard TV with satellite channels. Please note that the en-suite shower/WC room is compact and may not be suitable for larger guests.
Chambre du Canigou showcases exposed stone work and views toward Mount Canigou, the sacred mountain of Catalonia. It boasts a Queen size double bed, a big screen TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, a wardrobe, and a chest of drawers. The spacious en-suite shower room includes a WC, making it an ideal choice for couples seeking a romantic getaway.
Chambre du Soleil faces south, allowing for plenty of natural light and offering the same picturesque views as Chambre de l'Abbé. It features a super King size bed, a writing desk, a big screen TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, and a spacious en-suite shower room and WC. This room can also be configured with twin single beds upon request.
The Studio Catalan, located on the top floor of the mas, provides views of both Mount Canigou and Les Aspres. It includes a mezzanine level that can accommodate up to three people with two single beds (or one super king size double) and a futon bed. With an additional sofa bed in the main room, the studio can accommodate a maximum of five people. The compact shower room/WC is accompanied by a dining table and a kitchenette equipped with a fridge, microwave, and electric kettle (no stove or oven). The room also features a wide screen TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, a pull-down cinema screen, a ceiling-mounted digital projector, and a small library. Please note that the studio is not suitable for the elderly, disabled individuals, or children due to the stairs to the mezzanine and the low sloping roof.
