returned again for the 4th time to experience yet another warm and friendly welcome
we visited this location once again this time with another couple who have not been before , we were given a warm and friendly welcome as usual , the food was plentiful, and freshly cooked with the delight of creole influences, the beds are comfortable so we had a good night sleep. The location of this property is ideal for visiting Northern France and Belguim.
Their 4 delightful children are polite and well mannered and a credit to their hard working parents

A hearty welcome
We were directed here by the Tourist Office in Wormhout, quite late in the afternoon, as we'd not made any arrangements and hadn't seen any signs.
It took a while to find, as it's further out of the village than we'd expected - it's a long way out into the country. We were welcomed like long-lost friends, rather overwhelming our weak understanding of French. We discovered that there would be six other French guests who all knew each other, and it seemed a little daunting to join in - that's daunting if you speak the same language, so we were cowards and went into the village to eat. We got back around 9 to find that dinner was just being served, so we sat and socialised for a while before going to bed. It all looked and smelt wonderful, maybe we would be braver another time...
Breakfast was great with what seemed to be home-made bread and coffee cups that seemed to refill themselves.
It was all very nice and we would certainly head back if we were in the area.

what a great welcome we recieved
we returned again after staying in July, this time we were accompanied by our daughter and 3 year old grandaughter, our family accomodation with lovely bathroom was ideal , and our grandaughter was delighted to meet and play with Herve and Sylvaines 4 lovely children , they are a credit to their parents , very friendly and polite and full of fun, and we were welcomed like old friends by all the family when we arrived , the food was as usual very plentiful and very tasty locally sourced and cooked to a high standard with a good varietyof dishes, at breakfast there was a large variety of various breads and lots of jam(often home made), this place is a little gem and Herve and Sylvaine work very hard to ensure their guests have a very enjoyable stay, we wished we were able to stay longer and will certainly return again, as they are such a lovely warm family
quiet rural location but within easy access of Northern France and Belgium, very friendly owners who
this is the ideal property for anyone wanting to experience warm hospitality in a rural setting,Herve and Sylvaine (the owners ) both work very hard at providing a warm and friendly welcome, the food was definately home cooked ,locally sourced and in many cases the fruit and vegetables were home grown, and also in good supply, but also with an interesting addition of Creole influences which were lovely
Chambre d'hote Boenewal
Excellent stop off point for northern France & Belgium. Location is rural and so very peaceful with after dinner walking available, nearest property must be nearly a mile away. Very friendly family and you are guaranteed a warm welcome. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The evening meal is recommended , there is plenty to eat and drink as the hosts , Heurve & Sylvaine are very friendly , but the meal does tend to be later rather than sooner , so do not expect to get to bed too early!! Lots of locally grown products are used and Heurve & Sylvaine are both excellent chefs. Much of the menu for the evening meal and breakfast are made by them. Definately a place for a short stay and highly recommended by both of us.
