Description:

Description for B&B:

Originally constructed in 1860 by a wealthy Parisian industrialist atop Trouville's heights, the Castle of Ferns offers a breathtaking view of the entire Côte Fleurie and overlooks Deauville. Initially a graceful seaside villa adorned with an exotic winter garden, the castle underwent extensive expansion and redevelopment in the 1920s, transforming it into the magnificent structure it is today.

Over the years, the estate underwent changes, with the land being divided and the farm and a significant portion of its farmland being separated. It now stands as a splendid complex, comprising the castle building and numerous adjoining structures, nestled within a picturesque 5-hectare park.

During World War II, the Castle faced various roles, serving as an annex for religious purposes, a summer camp, and eventually a convalescent home, all in response to the extensive damage suffered by the city of Caen. Sadly, following the economic crisis of the 1990s, the Castle fell into abandonment and was sealed off until its acquisition by a private individual in 1997. This marked the beginning of an extensive restoration campaign aimed at erasing the remnants of its tumultuous past and reviving the estate's former grandeur.

Now fully restored, the Castle proudly opens its doors to guests and friends alike, allowing them to revel in the enchanting allure of this slumbering beauty. Its passionate owners are delighted to share the charms of the estate with all who visit, inviting them to experience its rich history and restored splendor.
