The two rooms are separate from our house and have their own entrance. Each room has its own toilet and shower. The beds are 160x200 cm in size. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace with a view of the swimming pool, or in the shared conservatory. The rooms are equipped with cable TV and WiFi access is available. Private parking is also provided.Esnandes is a charming village in Charente-Maritime, just ten minutes away from La Rochelle and Ile de Ré. It is located on the edge of the Marais Poitevin, also known as Green Venice. Our house is situated in the heart of the village, two kilometers from the sea. You will appreciate the peaceful and tranquil environment. The village is picturesque with its narrow streets lined with holy-hocks and cream-colored houses. The fortified church, dating back to the 12th century, adds to the architectural richness of the village. Next to the church, you can visit the Mytiliculture Museum which tells the story of mussel farming, as Esnandes was once a major center for cultivating Moules de Bouchot.
Esnandes is also located on the Bay of Aiguillon, with La Rochelle to the south and the Vendée beaches to the north. The bay is a natural reserve for migratory birds and offers a rich ecosystem for them. The L.P.O (ornithological society) organizes walks where you can explore this natural environment and its diverse bird life.
Despite being close to popular tourist destinations like La Rochelle and Ile de Ré, Esnandes still retains its authenticity as a charming coastal village. You will be pleasantly surprised by the calmness and tranquility of the village, even during the tourist season. It's a perfect place to relax while still being within reach of La Rochelle, Ile de Ré, and the Marais Poitevin.
You can enjoy bike rides along the coastal pathway that surrounds the Bay of Aiguillon. The impressive Ile de Ré bridge is less than half an hour away. A walk from the house to the Pointe Saint-Clément offers a panoramic view of the bay, where you can also find an orientation table and witness breathtaking sunsets. The different-colored carrelets, typical cabins used by fishermen and women, can also be discovered along the Atlantic coast.
If you're interested, the golden beaches of the Vendée coast, such as Les Sables-d'Olonne and La Tranche sur Mer, are less than forty-five minutes away.

Jolie villa avec piscine, nous avons passé 3 jours agréables, l'accueil était chaleureux et sympathique, les petits déjeuner copieux, la chambre propre. Mme CAILLAUD était de bons conseils pour visiter la région. A refaire avec notre petite fille.
Directions
To reach the north of La Rochelle, head in the direction of "Ile de Ré" and continue until you reach Lagord. From there, proceed to Marcilly and Esnandes.
