Bonjour, votre acceuil est très chaleureux, une cuisine appétissante et une maison bien tenue,Philippe neri.
beautiful setting, friendly service, clean room
This is a beautiful old farmhouse with a lovely garden. The rooms are very clean & have all the amenities you need.
Aga is very friendly & helpful & speaks excellent English!
There is a communal breakfast & dining room, the breakfast was pleasant but basic. The people we met there who had the evening meal said it was really great - it looked & smelled great to us!
There is space to park a motorbike under cover.
The village is tiny & there are no shops, the nearest supermarket is about 10 -15 mins drive away

Perfect
Six of us went to Laon for the Historic Car Rally and found La Besace from Booking .com it turned out that whilst we are all car nuts and really enjoyed the event the real stars of the weekend were Aga and Franc at Le Besace. From the ice cold beer welcome at the end of a long days driving to the photo on the steps as we left the stay was perfect. La Besace is located in a very pretty small village a few miles south of Laon towards Reims with woodland walks around and perfect peace, the street lights are turned off at 21.30hrs. The drive from Calais via Peage is a very easy 2hrs 20mins and it makes a great base to explore the local countryside from as well as lovely historic Laon and Reims and of course you are in champagne country. The rooms are very comfy as are the beds and the showers are hot with plenty of water, the rooms at the back have lovely views as well. Aga is a great cook and for what we thought was a very modest amount we ate in 3 nights out of 4 and enjoyed every home cooked wholesome mouthful. Le Besace lends itself to relaxing be it indoors or out and there is always cold beer, wine, tea or coffee to help you relax at the end of the day, breakfast is continental and the coffee keeps coming. Aga is the perfect host, she always seems to be around with a smile and cheerful welcome and she always remembers your name, we enjoyed her company in the evening as well when she would join our conversations, offer advice on the local area and introduced us to some wonderful Vodkas, Franc her husband is just the same when he is around and we felt very welcome there. Even if we do not attend the Laon Historique Rally again we are intending to return to Le Besace, we loved it.
