The DER Lake is renowned for its significant importance in the world of ornithology, as it serves as a breeding ground, winter habitat, and a stopover point for numerous bird species. With over 200 species, including some protected ones, the lake is a haven for birdwatchers.This picturesque destination features three marinas: Nemours Port, Nuisement Port, and the Giffaumont Nautical Station, all of which have been awarded the prestigious blue flag label for their exceptional standards.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities at the lake, such as swimming on one of the six beaches, fishing, and engaging in various water sports like windsurfing, power boating, and water skiing. Moreover, there are approximately 250 km of well-marked hiking trails and cycling paths encircling the lake for those who prefer to explore on foot or by bike. Additionally, there is a 38 km path that connects the lake to Saint-Dizier along the Marne Canal, spanning a distance of 12 km.
The Der region is also celebrated for its charming half-timbered religious buildings, including the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in Châtillon-sur-Broué. To facilitate the discovery of these architectural gems dating back to the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries, a designated tourist route has been established, guiding visitors to these historical sites.

Access to LA ROSERAIE is convenient via various routes: Departmental Road 13 from Vitry-le-François, Departmental Road 384 from Saint-Dizier, Departmental Roads 153 and 4, as well as RN 67 when approaching from Wassy, Joinville, Chaumont, and Dijon. Visitors coming from Montier-en-Der can take Departmental Road 12. The closest aerodrome is Vitry-le-François - Vauclerc, while the nearest SNCF station is located in Saint-Dizier.
