Experience the incredible natural beauty and ideal environment for rural tourism at the Cumeadas do Baixo Guadiana. Our century-old farmhouse, complete with barn and stables, has been converted into five comfortable self-catering apartments. Throughout the restoration process, we have made it a priority to preserve the architectural style of the Algarve.

Each apartment is fully equipped with a kitchenette, utensils, linens, toiletries, duvets, and wood for the fireplace. We have paid attention to every detail to ensure that you feel at home during your stay.

Our front yard serves as a common area, perfect for enjoying an aperitif, gathering, barbecuing, or taking a nap in the shade of the porch. The apartments are spread across three floors, accommodating anywhere from 2 to 6 people. We also offer airport and train/bus pickup services, as well as the option to bring your pets along.

Domingos and Anabela, the owners, have found this valley to be a special place to live with their children. They hope that you and your family and friends will enjoy not only the natural resources but also the historical heritage of this beautiful valley.

In addition to leisure and cultural activities, we also have collaborative activities, children's activities, bicycle rentals, guided tours, and visits to scenic spots and monuments. Horses are available for rent as well.

The Houses of Old Haystack are located in Castro Marim, a small town in the Algarve near the Spanish border. Our houses offer tranquility and the charm of rural life, just a short drive from the beaches of Monte Gordo.

The houses have been carefully restored to preserve their traditional architecture, using traditional materials such as sugar cane, lime, wood, stone, tile, and wool for insulation. We are committed to preserving the environment and have implemented a wastewater treatment system that purifies water for reuse in irrigation.

We offer five accommodations, including three bedrooms and two suites. All rooms are equipped with TV, air conditioning, and private bathrooms. Guests can enjoy breakfast in the dining room, relax in the garden or by the pool, and make use of the barbecue facilities and parking.

Surrounded by nature and offering stunning views, our location allows guests to observe agricultural work and pastoral activities. We are just a few minutes away from golf courses, the Beliche dam, and the beautiful beaches of Monte Gordo.
