Description for B&B:
As Dutch speakers, we are fluent in English, French, and German, so feel free to reach out to us in your native language.Located at 21 Rue des Halles, across from the Council House in the charming oyster harbor village of Mornac sur Seudre, stands the former Mayor's house. Designed by architect Jean Buneau, from the nearby fashionable seaside resort of Royan, this grand townhouse showcases a unique architectural style that contrasts with the picturesque Celtic origins of Mornac, resembling more of a 19th-century Parisian building.
This carved stone building exudes elegance with a touch of shabby chic, a character that the current owners take great pride in preserving.
The Courtyard:
At the back of the house, there is a delightful walled courtyard. If weather permits, we serve a plentiful breakfast at a long table under a large parasol. This same area provides a charming spot for pre-dinner cocktails.
The Pool:
Discreetly tucked away in a corner of the courtyard, there is a small swimming pool where you can enjoy a refreshing dip whenever you desire.
The Tea Garden:
Adjacent to the house, across the pathway, you will find a beautiful tea garden. In May, the mature cherry tree is filled with luscious cherries, offering shade throughout the summer. Relax and indulge in afternoon tea on the classical garden furniture provided.
The Dining Room:
On rare occasions when the weather doesn't permit outdoor dining, our stylish Salle à Manger offers a cozy alternative. Furnished with a touch of Monsieur Rouffineau's intended style, it provides a pleasant atmosphere.
The Library:
Our well-stocked bookshelves offer an extensive selection of reading material and informative resources in various languages. La Bibliothèque is also available for board games and card evenings, and the piano is at the disposal of skilled amateurs.
