Description for B&B:
The village of Mailly-la-Ville is located at the junction of the Yonne river and the Canal du Nivernais, offering a unique setting for boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, or simply taking a leisurely stroll. The river and canal are major attractions for tourists, especially since the village is adjacent to the picturesque "Les Coûtas" coasts, which were once covered with vineyards but disappeared in the early 20th century. These coasts provide stunning panoramic views from paths that start in the village center.Situated overlooking one of the locks of the Canal du Nivernais, the guest rooms are located on the first floor of a 17th-century building separate from the owners' house. On the ground floor, there is a relaxation area for guests, which includes a fully equipped kitchen for dining or preparing meals. Guests also have access to a shared inner courtyard with the owners.
The guest rooms, named "Les Coûtas," can accommodate a total of 8 people. By booking all three bedrooms simultaneously, the guest rooms can be transformed into guest houses. "Les Coûtas" is open year-round for visitors.
One of the guest rooms, called "Chambre du Père Leleu," offers a special view of the Canal du Nivernais lock and the Yonne River. This family suite is named after a local figure, "Father Leleu." Father Leleu, a former Communard, settled in the neighboring commune of Saint-Moré in 1887. He lived in a cave overlooking the Cure, Roche Percee, and discovered numerous prehistoric artifacts during his exploration. He showcased his troglodyte lifestyle and even exhibited live vipers. In 1913, his body was found inside his cave under mysterious circumstances, leaving behind a legendary tale. Staying in this suite gives guests the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Father Leleu.
The family suite consists of two rooms with one double bed and two bunk beds. It has a private bathroom and a separate toilet. Children under 6 years old can request a conversion of the bunk beds. The double bed is 140 cm, and the single bunk beds are 90 cm. The suite also includes two desks, two storage cabinets, electric heating, a shower room with a shower and washbasin, a heated towel rail, and a hairdryer.
