Description:

Description for B&B:

We are situated in Mesland, a delightful village on the north bank of the Loire river, nestled between the towns of Blois and Amboise. Mesland is a renowned stop on the Loire Valley vineyards route and is conveniently located near the main châteaux.

Our property, a former wine estate, was constructed in the mid-1800s and consists of a grand mansion built in 1846, a serene park adorned with centuries-old trees, and the former stable and winemaking facility. The vineyard was last harvested in the Clos in 1955.

For relaxation and rejuvenation in between castle visits, wine tastings, walking tours, and bike tours, we offer a 14m swimming pool with comfortable deckchairs.

The Loire Valley is recognized by UNESCO as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering visitors breathtaking landscapes including the untamed Loire river, expansive forests, and majestic Royal Castles.

Mesland, our picturesque village, is located on the renowned Wine Road and is surrounded by vineyards. It was established as a Priory in the 12th century by monks from the Marmoutier Abbey, with the Notre-Dame church still standing as a testament to its history. Mesland lends its name to the "Touraine-Mesland" category of Loire Valley wines, and you can enjoy tastings directly from the producers.

The Clos Sainte-Marie enjoys an ideal location near the most famous castles in the Loire Valley:
- Château de Chaumont sur Loire with its international festival of gardens (7 km)
- Château d'Amboise and "Clos Lucé," the former home of Leonardo Da Vinci (19 km)
- Château de Blois (23 km)
- Château de Chenonceau (30 km)
- Château de Cheverny (35 km)
- Château de Chambord (44 km)

We highly recommend using the Michelin Green Guide "Castles of the Loire" to explore the region.

There are numerous activities for children in the area, including:
- Mini-castles in Amboise (20 km)
- Loire Valley Aquarium in Lussault-sur-Loire (23 km)
- "Lulu Parc" for the little ones in Rochecorbon (36 km)
- Beaumarchais animal reservation and its "safari train" in Autrèche (11 km)
- Beauval Zoo with over 4000 animals in Saint-Aignan (40 km)

In addition to castle visits, the region offers a wide range of activities, including:
- Wine tastings (we can recommend producers in the region)
- Hot air balloon flights over the Loire river and the castles
- Traditional boat rides to discover the Loire
- Abundance of walking and biking tours (we can arrange bike rentals)
- Horse riding at Centre équestre du Val de Loire (16 km)

Golf players can enjoy several greens in the region, including:
- Golf de la Carte (18-hole) - 10 km
- Golf de Fleuray-Amboise (9-hole) - 10 km
- Golf du Château de Cheverny (18-hole spanning over 6 km) - 35 km
