Located in the picturesque countryside of Carrazedo de Montenegro near the Padrela mountains, Quinta dAlagoa spans across 70 hectares (approximately 170 acres) of farmland and woodland. The main crops cultivated on this organic farm are chestnut, olive, and vine, all of which are certified by SOCERT, the Portuguese Organic Quality Control entity.

Surrounded by fields and woods, the farm boasts historically and culturally significant buildings that showcase the beauty of rustic architecture. The old farmhouse, laborers' lodgings, barn, and other outbuildings have been carefully restored and transformed into accommodations for agrotourism. As a member of TER (Turismo no Espaço Rural – Rural Tourism Association), the farm offers guests a unique experience amidst its vast estate.

Central to the property are the farm buildings, which have been recognized for their historical and cultural value and are proposed as Listed Buildings. The Casa dos Moços, Casa das Mulheres, Coberto da Nora, and Casa do Caseiro provide a glimpse into the past and exemplify traditional rustic architecture. Additionally, the Lagar do Azeite and Lagar do Vinho have been restored to their original working order.

The Casa da Quinta features six double bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom, while the stable has been converted into a meeting and reunion room suitable for large groups.

In addition to the main crops of vine, olive, and chestnut occupying a total of 42 hectares (approximately 104 acres), Quinta D’Alagoa also cultivates vegetables, maintains orchards, and manages 10 hectares (approximately 25 acres) of Lameiro, or water meadows. The property also boasts oak, poplar, and pine woods.

Since 2001, the farm has been committed to organic farming practices, with SOCERT certifying its adherence to Portuguese Organic Quality Control standards. The use of artificial chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides is strictly avoided, ensuring that the cattle on the farm consume only natural fodder.
