Riad Dades, a dominating kasbah in the Dades Valley, offers rooms with windows opening to the picturesque views of the valley. The construction of the building includes traditional methods such as adobes, which are mud and straw bricks dried by the sun. These bricks are used to build thin walls, pillars, arches, and decorative elements. Another construction method used is pisé or rammed soil, where damp earth is piled in a wooden formwork and compacted to create solid walls. The walls and roofs are coated inside and outside with a mixture of mud and straw, which is renewed every 6 years for the walls and every 2 years for the terraces. The ceilings of Riad Dades are made with reeds on wooden beams and can feature intricate geometric designs using bamboo stems. The entire ceiling is covered with a layer of soil. To reach the riad in Ait Ibrirne, follow these directions:
If you are coming from Tinghir, as you pass the town of Boumalne Dades and cross the Oued Dades bridge, take the secondary road N704 (Boumalne Dadès to Msemrir) at the roundabout just before Boumalne Dadès. The riad is located 9 km from this roundabout in the beautiful village of Ait Ibrirne. You can use the GPS coordinates 31.436579°N, -6.010036°E for navigation.
If you prefer to use public transport, the Boumalene Dades bus station is only 9 km away from Ait Ibrirne. If you provide us with your arrival time, we will come and pick you up from the bus station. At the bus station, you will find two types of taxis. The mini-buses, mostly Mercedes Benz 207 or 307, can accommodate up to 15 passengers. We also have grand taxis, usually Romanian car Dacia Lodgy, which can accommodate six passengers plus the driver. The cost for the journey is 5 dhs per person. Just mention that you are going to Riad Dades, and everyone will be able to assist you in reaching us.
If you are arriving at Ouarzazate airport, it is located 130 km away from the riad. It takes approximately 2 hours by private car or taxi, with a cost of 3 € per person for a taxi. Many buses leave from Ouarzazate to Boumalene Dades, and we can arrange to pick you up from the Boumalene Dades bus station. Please inform us of your arrival time.
