Situated on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Ploerdut, MiKa-GaLe is surrounded by lush green hills and serene wooded valleys, carved out by the Ellé, Scorff, and Aër rivers. Explore the extensive network of footpaths that traverse open countryside and densely wooded hills, ideal for walking, running, cycling, bird-watching, and artistic pursuits like photography, drawing, and painting. Immerse yourself in the rich history of the area by visiting nearby monuments, churches, chapels, and medieval villages frozen in time. Within walking distance of the house, Ploërdut village offers a charming medieval church, a boulangerie, a crêperie, two friendly bars, an eatery, and a self-service shop. Don't miss the vibrant local street markets in Hennebont, Rostrenen, and Vannes (on Wednesdays).
The nearest town, Guemene Sur Scorff, is just a 10-minute drive away. Here, you'll find a pretty historic center with a weekly market, bars, restaurants, banks, a post office, a cinema, traditional shops, and supermarkets. Indulge in fresh seafood from the weekly seafood truck, and explore the unspoiled rolling farmland along the river Scorff. MiKa-GaLe is more than just a holiday accommodation—it's a home away from home. Previous guests have attested to its welcoming ambiance and the amenities that ensure a relaxing and hassle-free stay. The traditional Breton stone longere has been fully renovated while preserving its unique character features, including exposed beams, wooden floors, a stone fireplace, French doors, shutters, gabled windows, and exposed stone work.
Inside, the ground floor features a fully equipped modern kitchen with everything you need, from stove/hob, oven, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher to coffee maker, blenders, and a complete set of pots, pans, and baking trays. The open-plan kitchen flows seamlessly into the spacious dining room and cozy lounge, furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs, a TV/DVD (with British free view channels), a CD player, and a wide selection of DVDs, CDs, books, and board games. The centerpiece of the lounge is a log wood-burner, perfect for chilly evenings. French doors open to the garden and sun terrace, offering scenic views and easy access for outdoor dining and sunbathing. Sun lounges and outdoor garden furniture are provided for your comfort.
The ground floor also includes a laundry area with a modern washing machine and dryer, as well as a utilities room (vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing board, clothes hanger) and a toilet.
Upstairs, you'll find three beautifully decorated bedrooms, each equipped with its own ensuite bathroom featuring a shower, toilet, and vanity. Two bedrooms have double beds, while the third bedroom has two single beds. Additionally, one of the bedrooms has a sofa bed, and fold-away beds can be set up if needed. Wake up to magnificent views of the garden and surrounding countryside from each bedroom. The house is well insulated and has central heating throughout.
Outside, the large garden offers separate areas, including quiet lawned spaces shaded by old apple trees and areas perfect for summer BBQs. Children will love the extensive and enclosed garden, with plenty of safe and open spaces to run, play, and explore. The property boasts an orchard with apple, pear, plum, and apricot trees, and guests are welcome to enjoy the delicious fruits. On-site private parking is available.
Rates:
Change-over days are on Saturdays, and bookings are preferred on a weekly basis, although shorter stays can be arranged with the owners. To secure your booking, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required, with the balance of payment and a security/damage deposit due one month before your arrival date.
Rates include a welcome basket of local goodies, all linen and towels, heating, gas, electrics, logs for the wood-burner during the winter season, a 'meet and greet' by the property manager, and end-of-stay cleaning. Please contact the owner to confirm rates and availability.

If you prefer to travel by train, there are options from Paris to Rennes, Vannes, and Lorient. Once you arrive at one of these train stations, you will need to drive to reach the house.
The house is approximately a 5-hour drive from Paris Airports, using the motorway. Please note that there is a toll of approximately 25 Euros.
If you are arriving by ferry, the nearest ports are Roscoff (1.5 hours away), St. Malo (2 hours away), Caen (3 hours away), and Cherbourg (4 hours away).
To easily find the house, simply enter Poulmarvezen into your GPS, and it will guide you straight to the front gate.
