Dar Al Bahar is a befitting name for this remarkable abode situated on the ramparts of Essaouira in the "San Dion" area. Poised by the sea, it embraces the ocean's trade winds. The terrace offers an ever-changing spectacle, with winds crashing against the coastal rocks. The vantage point also provides a panoramic view of the medina, including the ancient Scala's northern fort and the Mellah, once the Jewish quarter. In the distance, one can glimpse the sand dunes, extending to the city's outskirts.

Owned by Jean-Claude and Lise, a French-Dutch couple, this house has undergone a complete renovation since its construction in the late 19th century. It was an animated area back then, thanks to a functioning windmill - now in ruins - that supplied flour to the city and its surroundings. The street name, Touahen, which means mill in Arabic, has endured.

Today, tranquility reigns supreme in this haven, interrupted only by the crashing waves and the cries of seagulls.
