Welcome to this former Cistercian Abbey located in the beautiful countryside of France, where Saskia and Martijn have been graciously hosting guests for over a decade. Situated within a historic complex encompassing 5.5 hectares of parkland, this magnificent holiday domain offers a variety of accommodations. Guests can choose from charming guest rooms in the main building, cozy holiday apartments in the outbuildings, or opt for a romantic stay in one of our gipsy caravans nestled at the edge of the forest.

In the evenings, Saskia and Martijn extend a warm invitation to their guests to join them for an exceptional dining experience at the table d'hôtes. Whether it be outside at a beautifully decorated long table or inside the Grand Salon with its impressive fireplace, guests are sure to enjoy a memorable meal. For those with a passion for cooking, golfing, hiking, cycling, or simply embracing the good life, we offer special arrangements tailored to your interests.

At our venue, we pride ourselves on creating an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. We strive to provide a personalized experience that makes our guests feel right at home.

Description for Gite

We offer a selection of 6 charming gîtes, each featuring 2-4 bedrooms. Inside, you will find a well-appointed bathroom with a washbasin, a bath, and a separate shower. Additionally, there is a separate toilet for your convenience. The open plan kitchen is equipped with modern amenities such as a vitro-ceramic plate, an extractor, a combination microwave, a large refrigerator with a separate freezer compartment, a dishwasher, a Senseo coffeemaker, a kettle, a blender, a toaster, and all necessary cooking utensils and crockery. All rooms are comfortably heated with electric heating, ensuring a cozy stay. Stay connected with our complimentary Wi-Fi available in the gîte. Please note that there is no TV, allowing you to truly unwind and disconnect during your stay.

Outside, each gîte boasts a lovely terrace furnished with teak garden furniture, a parasol, and a barbecue. This is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Our cottages are rented out on a weekly basis and include all necessary bedding and towels (1 set per person per week). Please bring your own towels for use outside, such as at the swimming pool. To ensure a hassle-free start to your stay, we provide a start package which includes coffee pads, tea, waste disposal bags, cleaning materials, and toilet paper.

Rest assured, the final clean-up will be taken care of by our team, so you can enjoy your last day without worrying about cleaning. We understand that pets are part of the family, so we allow them in our cottages after a consultation in advance (additional charges may apply).

Coordinates: 01°4607.35 longitude and latitude 45°5933.10. Upon arrival, please drive up to the courtyard and park your car at the designated parking lot after unloading your luggage.

- If coming from Bourganeuf, take the D941 towards Gueret/Clermont-Ferrand. After approximately 300 meters outside the built-up area, turn left onto the D940A towards Bosmoreau-les-Mines. Continue on this road for around 4 kilometers until you reach the entrance gate of lAbbaye du Palais on your right-hand side.

- If coming from Guéret, take the D940 towards Pontarion/Bourganeuf. After passing the Forêt domanial de Chabrières, turn right onto the D940A towards la Chapelle Taillefert. Follow this road for approximately 18 kilometers, crossing the bridge over the Thaurion. After about 500 meters, you will find the entrance gate of lAbbaye du Palais on your left.

- If coming from Aubusson, take the D941 towards Limoges. In Pontarion (just before reaching the river), turn right onto the D10 towards Bosmoreau-les-Mines. After 2.5 kilometers, turn left onto the D43 towards Bosmoreau-les-Mines. After 3 kilometers, turn left onto the D940A towards Bourganeuf. Continue on this road for approximately 3 kilometers, crossing the bridge over the Thaurion. After around 500 meters, you will find the entrance gate of lAbbaye du Palais on your left.
