Description for B&B:

Experience rejuvenation at Mill Plain Troo, a 3-hectare property with enchanting islands. The island offers the charming "The Hare and the Turtle" house, perfect for 1 to 4 people. This house features vintage furniture and decorations in blue and yellow tones, inspired by the theme of Fable Fountain. The 48m2 guard house has been beautifully renovated and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. It includes a living room, dining room with kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms - one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds. Guests can also enjoy the use of a barbecue and garden furniture. The house and guest accommodations are heated by a central heating system powered by biomass wood chips.

The island offers a variety of nature activities for guests to enjoy. Take a dip in the heated swimming pool or play a game of tennis along the Loir River. Fishing enthusiasts will delight in the opportunity to fish in the Loir River, which is classified as a second category river. The island is recognized as a fishing house and has two private islands, sluicing games, a spillway, and a source, making it a beloved fishing spot. Fishing is reserved exclusively for guests of the holiday cottages. Additionally, there is a boat available for use, as well as ski equipment, a refrigerator, a room for drying clothes, and a fishing shop just 7km away.

Other activities on the property include a petanque court, games for children, and small animals to interact with. For hikers, there is a pedestrian walkway that borders the Mill Plain. Bicycle tours are also popular, with routes available along the Loire Valley and the Loop St Jacques de Compostela.

In addition to the accommodations and nature activities, the island also offers a large barn that can be used for festivities, meetings, and exhibitions. There is ample parking available for vintage cars and rallies. Well-behaved pets are welcome, and the bed and breakfast accommodations are strictly non-smoking.

The Loir Valley is a hidden gem that deserves to be explored. With its rich history and numerous attractions, there is much to discover. Explore the troglodyte village of Trôo, visit Lavardin, one of the most beautiful villages in France, and experience the International Folklore Festival in Montoire. Other must-visit places include Ponce-sur Loir, the Charter on the Loir, Vendôme, known for its art and history, and the circuit of churches with frescoes. The castle of Courtanvaux Manor Possonnière is also worth a visit. Troo is conveniently located between the vineyards of Jasnières and the slopes of Vendome. It is just 45 km from Tours, where you can explore the Loire Valley, Amboise, and the famous castles of the region. The Touraine vineyards are also within reach.

To reach Troo, you can take the A11 car and exit at La Ferte-Bernard. Alternatively, the TGV train from Paris to Vendome takes approximately 42 minutes, depending on the length and number of people. Be sure to check out the guest rooms and the second house on the island O reflections.
