Description for B&B:
The chateau is located at an elevation of 800m (over 2788 feet) in the Haute Loire region. It sits in the middle of a vast granite plateau and is positioned on the southern boundary of the National Livradois Forest Park. The climate in this area is characteristic of a low mountain plateau and offers a surprising range of landscapes, including upland pasture, forests, and rocky gorges. This location serves as an excellent base for exploring nearby towns such as Craponne sur Arzon, which is just a 10-minute drive away, and La Chaise Dieu, which is a 25-minute drive away. Additionally, the chateau is close to the world heritage site of Le Puy en Velay, which is not only the historic center of the Haute Loire region but also serves as a starting point for the St Jacques de Compostelle pilgrimage route.

Directions
To reach St Andre de Chalencon from St Etienne, follow the signs for Le Puy en Velay. Look out for the road sign indicating Bas en Basset and turn onto that road. Continue on this road until you are close to Retournac. After passing the village of Jussac, you will see a right-hand turn marked Craponne. Take this turn and follow the road for approximately 5 minutes. Look out for a crossroads after a hamlet named La Baraque, where you should turn right towards St Andre de Chalencon.
As you ascend the hill from the Laberte river towards St Andre, you will come across a left-hand turn marked STADE. Take this turn, and at the immediate T junction, turn left. This will lead you into Chazelles, where you will notice a large wall of the annex ahead on your left. The green iron entrance gates are located just after this building on the left. If the gates are closed, please ring the bell on the left by the gates, and we will open them for you.
