Description for B&B:

Welcome! We are delighted that you have discovered us. A vacation is the perfect opportunity to escape the monotony of everyday life. Holidays provide a space for new ideas and experiences. We invite you to spend your holidays in our tranquil and restful surroundings. Our beautiful region offers numerous opportunities for you to enjoy. Whether you come for hiking, alone or with your family, to explore the region by bike or motorcycle, or simply to find solitude and experience well-deserved peace... Grange d'Anjeux caters to everyone's diverse needs and interests, ensuring that you have a wonderful holiday or long weekend with us.

Anjeux is located 5 km west of Saint-Loup-sur-Semouse and approximately 30 km north of the city of Vesoul. Situated at an elevation of 242 m, the village extends to the northernmost part of the department, in the valley of the Chanois stream, west of the low ground of Planey, at the edge of the Vosges plateau.

Covering an area of 8.71 km², the commune is characterized by a slightly hilly landscape on the outskirts of the Vosges. To the east lies the low ground of Planey, which originates from a karst source and flows approximately 7 km south into the Semouse river. The valley is, on average, about 235 m above sea level and is approximately one kilometer wide. In the Anjeux region, the Planey stream is joined by the Dorgeon and Chanois streams. The eastern boundary is marked by the hillock of the forest of Fays, reaching a height of 303 m, which serves as a watershed in the Semouse valley.

In the northwest, the commune extends into the valley of the Chanois stream and the hills near Haute de Calenne and Charmot, reaching an elevation of about 260 m. The northern boundary lies in the forest of La Levue.

The neighboring towns of Anjeux are Dampvalley-Saint-Pancras and Cuve to the north, Girefontaine to the west, La Pisseure, Plainemont, and Jasney to the south, and Bouligney and Saint-Loup-sur-Semouse to the east.

The region has a rich history, dating back to Roman times. In the Middle Ages, Anjeux was part of the Free County of Burgundy. Since 1271, it has been under various dominations, with Anjeux being a center of power. Over time, it came partially under the influence of the Luxeuil-les-Bains abbey and the Faucogney family. The peace of Nijmegen in 1678 brought Anjeux into the Franche-Comté region of France.

The Church of Anjeux, built in the Gothic flamboyant style in the 15th and 16th centuries, is a classified historical monument. The 19th-century wash house is also worth a visit. To the south of the road from Anjeux to Bouligney, towards the low ground of Planey, you will find the remains of the castle La Sarrasinière in a small grove.

One of the absolute tourist attractions in the area is the source of Planey. Depending on the weather, it displays a mesmerizing array of blue and green hues, making it a truly captivating sight.
