Description for B&B:

Casa Marta is an 18th-century stone building situated in the charming village of Pascoso, in the scenic Apuane Park of Tuscany. With three floors, each spanning approximately 325 square feet, this historical house offers a cozy and spacious living environment. Located 2321 feet above sea level, it provides breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

The house comprises a well-equipped kitchen/living room, two comfortable bedrooms, a full bathroom, a convenient powder room, and two handy pantries. Although there is no lawn, just outside the French doors of the downstairs bedroom, there is a delightful space where a small table, sunshade, and chairs can be placed for relaxation.

Access to the house can be made through two entrances. The front door leads you into the kitchen/pantry area, while the back door takes you to the downstairs bedroom. As the house is nestled on a hill, it features three floors on one side and two on the other.

Casa Marta is tastefully furnished with a combination of brand-new and antique Tuscan pieces from the 19th century. The light fixtures add a touch of elegance, and entertainment amenities include a television with satellite channels, a radio, and a CD player. Although a telephone has not yet been installed, there is a public phone available in town. Additionally, our office provides telephone, computer, and internet access for your convenience.

To ensure comfort during colder months, a gas central heating system has been installed throughout the house. And of course, no mountain house would be complete without a working fireplace, which adorns the second floor, adding warmth and coziness to the ambiance.

Description for Gite

Pascoso is a haven for nature enthusiasts, offering an immersive experience in the breathtaking natural surroundings. While being surrounded by nature is its most outstanding feature, Pascoso is conveniently located near the enchanting "cities of arts" in Tuscany, such as Lucca, Pisa, Florence, and Siena. Additionally, famous Italian beaches like Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio are just a short 30-mile drive away. Golf enthusiasts will also appreciate the proximity to Italy's finest golf courses, including Golf Alisea, Montecatini Golf Club, Club Golf Montelupo, Tirrenia Golf Club, Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club, and Golf Club Fontevivo, all reachable within an hour's drive.

For those who love hiking, Pascoso is a paradise with numerous mule paths suitable for mountain biking and horseback riding, with rentals available in the area. Some hikes require a short drive to reach the starting point, while others can be accessed directly from your doorstep. Off-road vehicle enthusiasts will find endless opportunities to explore the surroundings. The Turrite Stream offers a reserved area for fishing, where trout can be found, although they may not grow to substantial sizes due to low water levels. In Pascoso, the only sounds you'll encounter are the barking of dogs and friendly chatter of locals. Tranquility prevails in this mountainside retreat. With its ideal location, Pascoso is perfect for hiking, horseback riding (with horse rentals available), and mountain biking.

Directions

To get to Pascoso, you need to first arrive in Lucca. If you are coming from North Italy (Milan) or South Italy (Rome), you will reach Florence first (heading South or North respectively). From Florence North, continue on the motorway towards Pisa North (Pisa Nord) without exiting towards Milan or Rome. After around 50 kilometers (35-40 miles), you will reach Lucca. Take either the Lucca West (LUCCA OVEST) or Lucca East (LUCCA EST) exit from the motorway. In Lucca, take the state road 12 (SS 12) towards Abetone/Garfagnana, following the road signs. After approximately 5-6 kilometers from Lucca, you will reach Ponte a Moriano. Turn left and continue following the signs for Abetone/Garfagnana. You will pass through four tunnels, and after the fourth tunnel, turn right towards Borgo a Mozzano. After about 2 miles, you will reach Diecimo (a 5-minute drive) and 200 meters after the "Diecimo" road sign on the right side, you will see a Tamoil gasoline pump on the left side of the road. After another 100 meters, turn left towards Pescaglia as indicated on the road sign. There is only one asphalt road, which will take you to Pescaglia (8-10 km from Diecimo) and then to Pascoso (6-7 km from Pescaglia).
